The Latest Collection

My thesis collection explores the complex history of British colonialism in 1940s Myanmar through a fictional narrative of a Burmese spy reclaiming a stolen royal ruby called Ngamauk. By blending traditional Burmese garments with British military wear, the collection dismantles colonial hierarchies in dress, symbolizing cultural reclamation and resistance. Red crystals stitched into accessories echo the spy’s mission, transforming garments into a story of elegance, defiance, and the enduring strength of heritage.
